User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/101.0.4951.64 Safari/537.36 Edg/101.0.1210.47
Steps to reproduce:
On our system some Exploit Gard functions are active including "SIM Exec" and "Call Checker".
Our Firefox 91.9 esr is working fine with this settings,
Users starting Firefox 100 can´t load websites if these settings are active. If you deactivate these two settings in the exploit guard Firefox 100 (killing the lost firefox processes and start new) loads the websites.
Also the Firefox Processes won´t terminate with closing Firefox. You have to kill the left over Processes. Otherwise You can´t start a new Firefox.
I tryed it with the reachabel versions 101 (same error) and 102 (working fine) and with 91.9 esr (working fine)
Actual results:
Firefox starts, but You can´t load any website. You select an bookmark or type in an url, the address stays there, but no content will be leaded. It don´t signalize any loading action.
Also the about:about site is not loaded.
Other action as changing the symbol area (Symbolleiste anpassen) works as normal.
The browser starts nearly like frozen, but it isn´t
Expected results:
The web sites should be loaded and displayed. The normal reaction of the web browser. Starting with the home Page.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Bookmarks & History' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Moving across to our external software component as this seems to be explicitly about Exploit Guard.

@Burkhard, thanks for the report.
Starting with Firefox 100, Sim Exec and Caller Guard are known to be incompatible with Firefox. This change is related to improved Firefox security (specifically our win32k lockdown project). You can find more information about this change on a blog post we published here https://hacks.mozilla.org/2022/05/improved-process-isolation-in-firefox-100/ but in short, those settings need to be disabled for compatibility with Firefox.
Closing this bug as a duplicate of bug 1770098 where there's more discussion about it.
